Meet Your Instructor

Fine Artist and Decorative Painter

Ali Kay

I've been an artist since childhood. Painting is my specialty and I've focused my business on creating murals, specialty finishes and custom fine art. I'm drawn toward impressionistic brushwork and vivid color, but I also strive to create accurate representation of my subjects. I've taught students from all over the country in the workshops I offer at my studio in Chattanooga, TN and I'm excited to have the opportunity to share my techniques with an even broader audience online!

  • What if I’m not an artist?

The workshop breaks down complex skills into easy to follow step by step instructions. Most students should be able to follow along and create great results.

  • What kind of paints do you use?

I use Golden acrylics and Modern Masters metal reactives in this workshop. They are easily obtained and create beautiful colors and effects.

  • How long will it take to create a finished piece?

Students should plan on approximately 12 hours of painting time over a 2-3 day period to allow for drying time and for the reactives to work.

  • What is the number one thing you would recommend for this workshop?

I suggest watching the workshop prior to painting, then following along with this specific piece before creating personal pieces. I think it will really help with the process.

  • What if I need help?

In your welcome email, you will be invited to a private Facebook page for students where we offer trouble shooting solutions and support. You can also email us at help@ZensoCreative.com.
